Community Engagement Officer
AFC Fylde Community Foundation is recruiting a Community Engagement Officer to join its successful and respected team. The postholder will deliver on community programmes, working closely with the Community Engagement Manager to design, implement and successfully maintain a wide range of community services.
Hours: 40 hours per week.
Length of Contract: Permanent
Salary: £22,500 – £24,000 per annum
You will:
· Lead on various activity sessions that support the local community.
· Engage and inspire participants in secondary schools through educational programmes.
· Be proactive and constantly seek new opportunities and ways to develop the community engagement department of the Foundation.
· Build and maintain positive working relationships with Fylde Council, Lancashire County Council and other stakeholders across the region including but not limited to those from underrepresented groups.
· Support the Community Engagement Manager to identify emerging needs and potential delivery requirements across the community including anti-social behaviour and health programmes.
· Deliver one-to-one mentoring support ensuring suitable pathways are available for beneficiaries to reach their potential.
· Collect and collate the required monitoring and evaluation information, ensuring it is recorded using the appropriate system in a timely and accurate manner.
· Be a flexible member of the AFC Fylde Community Foundation team and when requested assist in the delivery of other projects and activities including evenings and weekends.
You will have:
· A Level 2 in Youth Work.
· Experience of delivering on community programmes.
· Experience of supporting children and young people aged 11-18.
· Delivered intervention support to the development of children.
· Have a clear understanding of the various stakeholders involved within community support services.
· Knowledge of safeguarding protocols when working with children and young people.
· Have a genuine interest in creating opportunities through sport and education for people within the community.
· Passion for working with children and young people and using the power of sport to help inspire change.
