AFC Fylde Community Foundation’s first-ever charity golf day at Blackpool North Shore Golf Club on Friday 8th September raised over £3,000 which will go towards supporting our work across the Fylde borough.
It was an exciting day of golfing action at one of Lancashire’s best golf courses, as local golfers, sponsors, and partners came together to support the work that the official charity of AFC Fylde do locally.
The golf day was held to help raise funds for the Foundation, which uses the power of the Football Club’s badge to inspire change in the community through three areas: Community Development, Employability and Skills, and Schools.
The Foundation’s is to work alongside AFC Fylde to improve the lives of residents in our community by delivering high-quality programmes with a lasting impact.
Alongside the four-ball stableford format, players could also take on a longest drive and closest to the pin competitions.
The Foundation would like to place on record our thanks to Lawrance Capital, PEI Delta Electrical Installations, Evolve Document Solutions, Jewson Lytham St Annes, Arcadian Finance, Handelsbanken, Primo Energy, Zeon Golf and Farleys Solicitors for sponsoring the event and their continued support, and to Blackpool North Shore Golf Club for providing the venue.
Following the day’s play, a presentation took place alongside a raffle, where fantastic prizes were given out, generously supplied by Lawrance Capital, AFC Fylde and Zeon Golf.
Michael Whittle, Assistant Foundation Director at AFC Fylde Foundation, said: “It was a fantastic day and great to see as many local businesses get involved in our first golf event.
“It’s through the support of these businesses that we are able to do the work that we do. Fundraising is vital to our organisation as we don’t receive the funding like other local clubs.
“To raise over £3,000 is fantastic, which will go back into our local community and we’re already looking forward to a much bigger event next year.”
The Foundation’s next fundraising event will take place on Friday 17th November, when we host our first Big Sleep Out at Mill Farm, in partnership with the Salvation Army.
If you would like to get involved in our Sleep Out in November, please email Michael.Whittle@afcfylde.co.uk
