Foundation Partners with Toby Carvery to Host Christmas Meal for Loneliness Prevention Project

The Foundation’s Kirkham Companions group attended a free Christmas Meal at Toby Carvery, Salter’s Wharf on 9th December as part of our wider Loneliness Prevention project.

The Kirkham Companions group is open to those aged 55 and over and meets weekly at Kirkham Community Centre, costing £1 per session. The session aims to bring those most at-risk of social isolation together and provides the chance to take part in a variety of light games and activities.

The Foundation organised for participants to go for a free Christmas meal at Toby Carvery, Salter’s Wharf, to provide participants with the chance to celebrate the festive season whilst also meeting other members of the community and expand the group.

Partnerships Officer, Bailey Wright, said that “It’s great that we can continue to work with Janette and all of the team at Toby Carvery, they are really supportive of our projects and allow us to run monthly Veterans’ Coffee Mornings from the restaurant.

“Our continued partnership has enabled us to support many people within the Fylde area under our Loneliness Prevention Project, and the Christmas meal for Kirkham Companions was a great way to reach out to more people in the area to offer them support.”
