
AFC Fylde Community Foundation have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Engagement Officer to join our successful and growing team.
The Youth Engagement Officer will lead the effective recruitment of participants onto youth engagement programmes and take lead on the delivery of the provision.
The role will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Foundation’s Fylde Focus programme, which supports young people aged 15-18 years who are Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET) to find positive outcomes.
Additionally, the role will provide key support to wider youth engagement offers such as NCS and our Detached Youth Work Service in partnership with Lancashire County Council, working with the wider team to ensure that our programmes are relevant, needs led and engaging for the target audience.

Reports To: Employability and Skills Manager
Hours: 40 hours per week including evening and weekends
Salary: £21,000 - £23,000 per annum (dependant on experience)
Length of Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2025
Location: Various locations across the Fylde borough.
You will
Work with individuals and groups of young people aged 15-18 years old to improve their skills and employability.
Mentor the young people with signposting to other agencies and provide wrap around support where required.
Manage the day-to-day operations with partners such as Jobcentre Plus to identify and work with young people who are NEET or involved in, or at significant risk of involvement in offending behaviour.
Plan and deliver a range of activities and workshops to engage young people and support a positive change in behaviour.
Conduct 1:1 interventions and group activities with young people, identifying their needs and tailoring activity to support them whilst managing risk.
Support the delivery of other youth intervention projects including NCS and Detached Youth Work Service.
Collect the required monitoring information and ensure it is recorded accurately on the VIEWS on-line monitoring and evaluation system.
Ensure all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessments and health and safety procedures put in place.
Be a flexible member of the AFC Fylde Community Foundation team and when requested assist in the delivery of other projects and activities including evenings and weekends.
Health and safety
Fully endorse, demonstrate and carry out the Foundation’s health and safety policy.
Comply with all group policies and statutory regulations relating to health and safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your work place, and assist if required with the amending of risk assessments periodically.
Have a full knowledge of procedures for evacuation with regard to fire.
Identify and report maintenance requirements or hazards within the workplace and encourage any workforce to do the same to avoid injury.
Safeguarding
The Foundation is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to endorse this commitment.
The employee must act to protect all young people and vulnerable adults that are in their care or attending the group’s premises. The employee must report any misconduct or suspected misconduct to the Foundation Director.
