Josh Kay and Owen Evans visit Medlar-with-Wesham Church of England Primary School!

AFC Fylde first-team players Josh Kay and Owen Evans visited Medlar-with-Wesham Church of England Primary School on Thursday afternoon!

Josh and Owen headed down to one of AFC Fylde Community Foundation’s partner schools to join in a PE lesson with pupils.

The Coasters pair took part in the session which was based on how to improve balance.

And winger Kay was pleased to see the great work that the Foundation do every day.

He said: “It’s been good. The kids have enjoyed it and it’s nice to see them taking part in physical activity and enjoying themselves, so it’s been fun.

“It’s a big thing for the kids to be keeping fit, so it’s nice to see them enjoying themselves and having fun which is what they should be doing really at this age.

“The Foundation are a big part of what the club do in the community. A lot of kids, all they want to do is have fun and progress in life, so it’s great.”

Kay believes it is important that the Fylde players have a presence in the local community and hopes they can inspire the next generation of Coasters supporters.

He added: “As players, you hope that the kids can take something away from it to see us out in the community, and hopefully take some inspiration from it.

“It’s important that we go out there and show our faces as much as we possibly can.”

Working alongside AFC Fylde, the Foundation use the power of the badge to serve residents of the Fylde borough to improve health and wellbeing, improve employability and skills and create stronger communities.

The Foundation deliver high quality sessions for nursery, primary and secondary school pupils, creating a lasting legacy.

Schools involved with AFC Fylde Community Foundation provisions can benefit from AFC Fylde matchday tickets at Mill Farm, the opportunity to meet first-team players and the chance to be mascot, plus much more!
