'Fylde on Foot' Fundraiser

AFC Fylde Community Foundation are taking big strides; presenting our 'Fylde on Foot' fundraiser.

On Sunday 21st September, staff, partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries will walk across the Borough of Fylde to raise vital funds to provide disadvantaged children and young people in Fylde access to funded sports provision in their local area.

For every £10 that is donated, your money will feed two children who receive means-tested free school meals during term time but go without this support during half-terms. As a result of your generosity we are proudly able to continue supporting these families throughout times of need, and ensure as many children as possible maintain a positive relationship with physical activity and social engagement.

Our target is to raise a minimum of £2500 which will provide no less than 100 available free spaces over the course of our half-term holiday camps.

Starting in Elswick and finishing in St Anne’s, the 20-mile route will shine a light on the real challenges faced by many in our community, especially young people who face challenges to access services and provisions due to financial, transport, or accessibility barriers.

Along the way, we will be stopping off at local community points that showcase and celebrate the work we do across the Borough, thanks to the incredible support of our partner organisations and funders.

We are encouraging everyone to get involved - whether you join us for the full distance or you come along for a small part, we would love to see as many people as possible supporting our community.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Brett Whitehead, said: “Coming together as a team - and as a community - is something I’m really looking forward to being part of.”

“When it comes to fundraising, we believe it’s important that people see exactly where their money goes and the difference it makes. Every penny raised through our ‘Fylde on Foot’ fundraiser will help provide free places for disadvantaged children on our October half-term camps, ensuring that no child misses out on the chance to play and be active because of financial barriers.”

“This walk is about more than just raising money - it’s about connection. It’s a chance to walk side by side with our participants, stakeholders, and local residents. Along the way, we’ll be stopping at key locations to celebrate and showcase the wide range of projects we deliver through the Foundation.

"We aim to highlight the breadth of support the Foundation offers across Fylde, demonstrating both our wide-reaching impact and the real challenges many people face in accessing the support they need."
