AFC Fylde Community Foundation have recently started a new health and wellbeing session called 'Fit Fylde' in partnership with EFL in the Community and The National League Trust.
It is a FREE 12-week programme with the aim to help participants make healthier lifestyle choices through nutritional support and physical exercise. We are encouraging any adult over the age of 18 to sign up.
Our Community Engagement Co-ordinator, Ryan De La Harpe, is leading the programme and has formed three cohorts on three different days. The first session takes place 18:00-19:00 on a Monday evening at Fylde Sports and Education Centre, PR4 3JZ.
We then provide an indoor version of the session on a Wednesday, 17:30-18:30, at AFC Fylde's gym, just around the corner from Mill Farm.
10:00-11:00 on a Thursday morning, Ryan, combines the session with a period of 'walking football' to make it a bit more light-hearted and interactive for those who still want to keep in touch with their sporty side.
The 12-week programme is devised of three cycles - macro, meso and micro (optional). To find out more about these cycles, please click here to read our information booklet.
Ryan will provide nutritional recommendations and meal plan examples (also provided in the booklet) for you to follow over the course of the three months.
Do you have a fitness goal for summer? Give yourself the opportunity to reach that target and sign-up now!

Our 'Fit Fylde' instructor, Ryan, said: "The sessions are proving to be really popular so far, we are receiving great feedback, so it's good to know people are enjoying the programme."
Ryan has previously coached at Namibia's national Rugby team, where he previously played in the Rugby World Cup for them as a player.
He said: "I thoroughly enjoy hosting sessions like these because all the participants are wanting to better themselves. They are here because they want to be, not because they have to be.
"It makes my life easier knowing that people will be engaging with what I am producing."
