Health and Wellbeing Officer
AFC Fylde Community Foundation is looking to recruit a Health and Wellbeing Officer to utilise the appeal and standing of AFC Fylde to engage men, women and families in innovative weight management and physical activities programmes.
This is a new and exciting position and will include the delivery of the Foundation’s Fit Fylde weight management programme based at Mill Farm Stadium and Lancashire County Council’s Tier Two weight management programme.
Length of Contract: 12 months initially subject to funding
Salary: £19,000 - £21,000 per annum
You will:

Recruit and support adults with a BMI 25+ (overweight and obese) into a 12-week weight management intervention including the Foundation’s Fit Fylde and Tier Two Weight Management programmes.

Develop a programme of engagement activities to engage, motivate and persuade adults to take part in physical activity and weight management sessions.

Work with the communications team to raise the profile of physical activity and weight management programmes amongst AFC Fylde supporters and the wider community.

Raise awareness of the risk factors of being overweight and obese and the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Provide on-going support to participants on nutrition, physical activity and behaviour change.
You will have:

Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a sport, community or health related subject.

Level 2 Exercise and Fitness Qualification.

Experience of delivering health promotion/public health interventions in community settings.

Experience of working with challenging and hard to reach adults, young people and families in a sport or health setting.

A proven track record of planning and delivering health interventions specific to individual requirements.
