Building Better Opportunities
The AFC Fylde Community Foundation is working to provide support under two Building Better Opportunities (BBO) projects across North Lancashire. These projects are part of the nationwide Building Better Opportunities programme which bring together funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF) to help tackle the poverty and social exclusion faced by the most disadvantaged people in England.:
- Age of Opportunity is a project which supports those over 50 who are currently unemployed or economically inactive, helping to improve skills and employability.
- Changing Futures is a project which supports people who are currently unemployed or economically inactive and are experiencing multiple and complex barriers to finding work to help improve their skills and employability.
Building Better Opportunities is a national programme which brings together funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF) 2014-2020 to invest in local projects tackling the root causes of poverty, promoting social inclusion and driving local jobs and growth. We are one of over 60 partners who are helping people to overcome barriers, improve their employability skills and to secure fulfilling occupations.
Building Better Opportunities projects focus on areas where there are high levels of poverty, and target groups most in need of improved support. Participants will build lasting networks of support and help to develop skills to enable them to move towards learning and work. The projects also aim to improve participants’ confidence, self-esteem, motivation, health and wellbeing.
We provide a range of support – please get in touch for more information on how we can help.
